Novosibirsk State Technical University

     Novosibirsk State Technical University is one of the largest universities in Siberia. It was established in 1950 as Novosibirsk Electric Technical Institute (NETI); in 1992 it was renamed into Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU). The university offers about 120 programs of study in technical, economic, and humanitarian fields at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph. D., and post-doctoral levels. Approximately 3000 faculty members and employees work at the university. Total number of enrolled students exceeds 25 thousand.
     The University has 17 faculties and institutes: Aircraft Faculty, Faculties of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Automation and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technologies, Mechatronics and Automation, Power Engineering, Physical Engineering, Radio Engineering and Electronics; Faculties of Business, Law, and Humanities; Institute of Distance Learning, which offer online and blended learning programs; Institute of Social Technology and Rehabilitation, the only educational institution in the region offering programs of study for people with disabilities; Institute of Further Professional Education and Training aimed at specialists working at enterprises; Faculty of Teacher Development, which provides training programs for university faculty and staff members; Faculty of Pre-university Training, Faculty of Lifelong Learning with programs for retired people.
    More than 100 research and educational laboratories and centers operate at the university. They specialize in such fields as laser and plasma technologies, electronic microscopy, material science and nanotechnologies, electrotechnologies and information protection among others.
     The University campus contains 8 academic buildings, 8 halls of residence for graduate, post-graduate, and international students; a cultural center, a sport palace, a ski depot, a sport center, a swimming pool, a clinic, summer camps on the Ob River and in Gorny Altay.
