Samara State Aerospace University
In 1942 Kuibyshev Aviation Institute was established. It had to train the engineering staff. The institute was named the Samara Aviation Institute after renaming the city of Kuibyshev into the city of Samara. In 2009 Samara State Aerospace University received the status of "National research university".
The major Research Areas of SSAU are space engineering, aeronautics, aerospace engine construction, radio-electronics, micro- and nano-electronics, information technologies, computer optics and image processing, space geo-informatics and information security, physics, chemistry and gas dynamics.
